How to Write a Wedding Or Party Cake Order

If you are serious about a cake business, you need to take the orders correctly. Speak with the client 2 weeks before to go over the order. Confirm it is correct. There is nothing worse than discovering the client expected something other than what you delivered.

Here is the 2 page information I use. Keep the original. The client gets the copy.

It is important a wedding order be placed a minimum of 2 months in advance. Depending on what they want, if you need to order something special or if you need to hand make Gum Paste flowers, it can be done 2 months ahead of time but not a few days before.

1. Day and Date of event

2. Reception Hall Name, Address and Phone Number

3. Name of person in charge at hall, including their cell or business number

4. Time of wedding if reception is at same place

5. Time of event if wedding is NOT at same place as reception

6. Deliver Time (should be minimum 2 hours in advance of expected arrival of guests)

7. Name of Client / Bride & Groom

8. Address (City, State and Zip)

9. Home phone of Client / Bride / Groom / Parent or Friend of Couple

10. Cell Phone of Client / Bride / Groom / Parent of Friend of Couple

11. Design of Cake (name of book design is in; page design is on)

12. Number of guests being served

13. Is cake stacked or separated by columns

14. If separated, what type of columns

15. Cake and Filling Flavors as well as cake sizes

16. If you are purchasing or making Gum Paste or Fondant flowers, list the names of the flowers and what colors you are to make them

17. Get color samples so you can match as closely as possible. Attach the samples to your copy of the Contract.

18. If you are using fresh flowers and you are getting them yourself from a wholesaler, be sure to figure out how many of each flower you need so you charge the client correctly. I usually charged at least double and sometimes triple the wholesale price.

19. Have client sign and date the order AFTER they read it. Remember. This IS a legal and binding contract which can be used in a Court of Law if for some reason you ever have to take legal action.

I wish you fun, creativity, many paying customers, and a long and fruitful business.

P.S. Oops, I forgot something else. Get deposits (½ down and balance due a week before the event), don't ever deliver a wedding or party cake if it is not paid in full 2 nights at the latest before the event. Charge for the things that need to be returned, and above all, Charge for YOUR worth). Also, be sure you charge a delivery and setup fee.

How To Write A Cracking Father Of The Groom Speech

I found that writing a father of the groom speech was really hard and required me to get some help online. I had some ideas as I'm sure you do, But it was just putting it all together that I struggled with. The hardest part of a father of the groom speech is starting it. So a little tip to get around this would be start in the middle or start at the end. Write down all your ideas on a piece of paper and then start putting them in order. Then you will have an idea of what you are missing and need to add. To help you will this process I am going to tell you what I think should be in a father of the groom wedding speech. This formula worked wonders for me so I am sure that it will help you write a cracking speech for your son's wedding.

OK when you start your speech you need to make sure you get everyone's attention. You can do this by telling a snappy joke or by using a quote from a famous and popular person. This will grab everyone's attention and they will focus on you. Now you need to introduce yourself. I know a lot of your guests will know who you are but you need to consider that some of the bride's relatives will not know you that well. From here you would go on to welcome everyone and thank them all for coming and making the wedding day an amazing occasion. Now comes the hardest part of the speech which will require you to think a little about what you need to say.

This is the part I found hard since I had so many good and funny experiences with my son. It was hard to pick the best ones that meet the right criteria. So basically you need to share stories or experiences that you have shared with your son that show the father son bond. I am sure you have many also. But before you choose which ones to use try to stick to this criteria. They can be funny or meaningful stories and experiences. Funny tends to work best but if they are short stories you can try getting in a more emotional story too. You need to avoid certain stories that relate to your sons ex wives or sex life. This may be very appealing but you do not want to embarrass you son. In fact it's best not to embarrass anyone, but if you do feel the need to do so then you can always embarrass yourself.

Now you are getting towards the finish. Remember to take your time with the stories and enjoy yourself. Trust me it will make your speech sound better too. It's always nice to make a few loving complements to your new daughter in law. Thank her for being so good for you son and making him a happy man. You can also make a comment on how beautiful she is. This will instant win over her family and assure them that you are happy with the marriage.

After you have done that it's time to pass on some advice to your son, you can give him marriage advice of you are comfortable to do so. Or you can give him some straight up life advice. That is up to you. You should also pass on your blessing to the marriage and wish them a happy future together. Once again you can now thank and welcome everyone and invite them to carry on partying and celebrating the wedding.

The Groom Speeches - Write the Perfect Crowd Pleasers

The groom speeches are often a cause of stress for many grooms. You have probably spent a lot of time and energy on your wedding planning which is stressful enough, and the last thing you should do is to get nervous and add more stress about the wedding speech on the big day.

It should not be that way. Just a little preparation will make you able to deliver a groom wedding speech that everybody will remember, even years after. When planning your speech, make sure it is not too long, but there are some things that all groom speeches must include.

You will probably be speaking after the bride's father, so make sure to thank him for his wonderful speech. Do not forget to thank all your guests for celebrating with you, and for the presents you have received. When you thank both pairs of parents for their love and support it is nice if you offer a small present to the mothers. If your wife is not going to give her own speech, make sure that until this moment you speak for both of you. After the necessary thanks to family members it is time to say a few nice, loving words directly to your wife. The speech then should end with thanks and a toast to your best man and maid of honor.

Do not make the speech too long. The best timing is to keep it under 5 minutes, so the crowd stays focused and listens to you. Add some humor, that is always helpful to get you relaxed, but do not push the jokes too far. You don't want to offense anybody.

The important thing to remember is: do not try to give your groom speech without any preparation - this can easily lead to a disaster. Make a note for the ideas that cross your mind, and think about what you are going to say. Write down the ideas, and then say them out loud. Not everything you think of will sound great when you say it, so do not skip this step. When you get pleased with the content ideas of your speech, write them down in note form, don't write the whole speech and then just read it. Your speech must be natural, like you are talking to an old friend and not like you are a teacher giving a lecture!

Practice a few times and you will have no problems in delivering an awesome speech on the day. And don't be nervous about standing up and talking in front of a crowd - they are still your friends and family.

To make it even easier for you, here are some great wedding speech tips [http://thegroomspeeches.com], and examples that will for sure help you to write a groom wedding speech that nobody will ever forget!

It is always great to include unforgettable moments you shared with your bride in your speech. This helps keep your message delightful. How To Write The Perfect Groom Wedding Speech

The wedding speech for the groom traditionally includes a toast to his wife, his groomsmen (including the Best Man), and both sides of parents. The easiest way to accomplish this in one toast is to start by giving thanks to each person or group of people in turn and mentioning why these people are important to him.

For instance, the wedding speech for the groom might start out by saying something along the lines of "First of all, I'd like to say a few words about my parents."

This opening could lead to citing one or two examples of leadership, love and support that the groom has received from his parents, along with thanks to them for providing these benefits. He can follow this with acknowledgments and thanks to his wife's parents for their love and support, as well.

Eventually, the wedding speech for the groom should make it's way around to the groomsmen, acknowledging any and all support and the help they have provided along with giving thanks to them as well. Lastly, the groom should properly acknowledge his wife and express his thanks and love to her.

The wedding speech for the groom should end with a toast to those whom he has mentioned.

There is no set rule that says the groom must thank or acknowledge all these people in this particular order or even in one single speech. However, since proper wedding speech etiquette demands that he acknowledge all the aforementioned people at some point during the reception, the easiest way to do so is to include everyone in one wedding speech for the groom and then toast at the end.

This will necessarily require that the groom make the proper acknowledgments and thanks in a timely manner in order to finish his speech within a reasonable amount of time. The recommended time frame for wedding speeches is between 4 and 7 minutes. Going beyond 7 minutes during your speech will cause the audience to become bored and often people stop paying attention after several minutes.

The last thing the groom should want to happen is for the audience to stop paying attention just when he's gotten to the last person on his list, which usually is the bride!

Because the groom has plenty of people to acknowledge and thank, the groom wedding speech should be one of the easiest to write, as he will have very little 'extra' time to fill up. In fact, it's quite possible the groom will be challenged to get his entire speech said within the allotted time.

In trying to decide exactly what details the groom wishes to share with the audience about those whom he speaks about, he should start by making a list of what he wishes to thank each person for and perhaps what he feels each person has contributed to the wedding, to his friendship with that person, and even to his upbringing. For instance, he might start by writing down the values his parents taught him that have enabled him to be a good husband.

He might list two or three of his wife's best qualities that have always attracted him to her and that have made her a desirable wife. He might think of a few examples of friendship that have made him consider his Best Man and groomsmen to be his friends.

His wife's parents obviously taught her a few strong values which have enabled her to be what he considers a good wife and partner and which he could mention in acknowledgment of them.

After writing down all of these things, he can then whittle it all down and fashion it into a speech that reflects not only his own personality but his basic feelings as well. If need be, he can involve a friend to help write a wedding speech for the groom, or even involve his soon-to-be wife, if he feels like it.

Generally, it is not expected that the groom needs to involve any humor in the wedding speech for the groom; however if the groom has a humorous side, certainly there is nothing wrong with him sharing an anecdote about his father, Best Man, or anyone else he acknowledges in his speech, provided the anecdote is in good taste and doesn't offend anyone.

If there is any doubt about the taste level of a humorous anecdote, the best thing to do is leave it out. It's better to be safe than sorry. The last thing a man would want to do with his wedding speech for the groom delivery is to offend his brand new in-laws, or other members of the wedding party, so if it's questionable material, leave it out.

Above all enjoy yourself during this very special day when addressing the wedding speech for the groom.
