It's Your Wedding - Be Unique and Creative

Be Unique and Creative on your Wedding Day!

It's your day... we've covered Planning your Wedding above. Now let's add some spice! I LOVE Creative Brides! Once, during the Garter/Bouquet section of a wedding I played, the Bride and Groom thought this would be funny... She sat facing the crowd, the groom ready to reach under her skirt to get the garter.

We planned to have a kids slip behind her (unseen), and place an oiled, messy baby doll under the dress. The Groom cracked his knuckles, reached in, and shot back in Presumed Terror as he pulled the baby doll onto the dance floor!

THAT WAS FUNNY! No, you don't have to go THAT far, but it will always be remembered! I've played Irish Weddings with dancers hired to do jigs, seen cakes shaped like Super Mario World, teared up as the Groom, who just lost his dad, danced with his mom to a Special Song we selected together. These moments are poignant or fun, and lend an emotional value to a reception that makes it most memorable for all. BE CREATIVE (and find vendors that will help you!).

Also, add a Memorable Moment for a Special Guest!

This is a very touching moment for all. The DJ announces that a Very Special Couple are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary next week, and he invites them to the floor to dance to the song they first danced to at their own wedding. It's beautiful, and something every guest at you wedding will remember and cherish. Make sure the photographer catches this moment forever.

When I sit with the Bride and Groom a week before the Wedding I ask them to call their moms and other family members to see if there are any Special Dances we can do for the guests. Remember, YOUR Wedding should always include a few heartfelt moments for family members - that's what they'll remember from your wedding.

Once the groom asked me if he could plan a dance with his grandmother (his grandfather had just passed away). They danced to "I left my heart in San Francisco" - the grandparents' wedding song. Not a dry eye in the place.

Always remember to incorporate your family into the wedding with a few memorable dances. AND you can only plan all this properly with a DJ who will sit with you and care for your wedding.

I LOVE things like this - think of the guests driving home that night, talking about a great wedding memory!
